Tested with over 20 pounds of liquid in containers, they have passed with flying colors. If you compare major lab supplier prices, this unit is less than half the price of a comparable unit. Has a cast aluminum, 7 x 7 heating surface, and the stepless heat adjustment lets you dial in temperatures up to approximately 300 F. It also comes with one magnetic stir bar and has a support rod attached, which is perfect for holding a thermometer or even a ph probe in the solution. It is strong enough to give a nice vortex,even in the most viscious solutions. We have placed these under rigorous testing conditions and the results have been more than impressive. The top plate will retain heat for a time even after the heater control is turned off. Remove the sample after use to avoid it boiling over. Only non-ferrous metals or Borosilicate glass produces should be used with this unit. Failure to use these can result in the failure of the unit. Never try to heat plastic on this unit! pH Probe: For pH measurements, stir the solution slowly and position the pH probe toward the side of the container, approximately 1" off of the bottom of the container. WARNING! This unit is designed for routine, intermittent laboratory use. This unit should not be used with flammable or highly corrosive chemicals.
